International Nurses Day, 2024 

 

 

International Nurses Day is celebrated globally, every year on May 12th, the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, the founder of Modern Nursing.

        The theme for International Nurses Day 2024, as announced by Dr Pamela Cipriano, President of the International Council of Nurses was “Our nurses our future, the economic power of care”.

        Arya Nursing College and Arya School of Nursing celebrated the day with joy and pleasure, performing various activities by the students and faculties.

The program started with the college anthem at 11 am, followed by a ‘lamp-lighting’ ceremony performed by dignitaries at 11.20 am.  

        It was followed by a speech from our Madam Principal, Dr. (Mrs) Bandana Devi. She applauded the students for choosing this profession and explained the qualities of a good nurse. This was followed by the  Madam Vice Principal, Dr. (Mrs) Arpana Das unveiling our theme and a cake-cutting ceremony followed it. 

        The faculty of Arya Nursing College and Arya School of Nursing performed an informative skit on the changing scenario of the nursing profession in India. After that other activities like the cultural program and the distribution of awards were carried out.

        The program ended by 1 pm and light refreshment was provided. It was a colourful and successful program with the active participation of each member of the Arya family.
